The goodness of goat milk

While we know ‘breast is best’, some UK families will need or choose to explore alternatives to breastfeeding. Goat milk is an increasingly popular option and with good reason…

  1. Rich in vitamins and minerals, goat’s milk naturally contains the A2 protein, which is gentler on little tummies.
  2. It is high in prebiotic oligosaccharides, which are naturally-occurring carbohydrates that feed the good bacteria. Prebiotics promote good bacteria in the gut, which supports and maintains overall health.
  3. Goat milk has lower levels of lactose than cow milk. Lactose is the sugar found in milk which is digested by the enzyme lactase. Many children naturally do not have lactase or are deficient which means they may struggle to digest lactose, leading to trapped wind, bloating and constipation or diarrhea.
  4. As goat milk is the closest in composition to human breastmilk, it requires far less processing than cow milk.

Goat milk is the original superfood and a powerhouse of nutrition for babies and adults alike.

Dating as far back as 2000 years ago, goat milk was once the preferred source of milk over cow milk because of its nutritional goodness. Cleopatra, after all, consumed and bathed in it for good reason.

In terms of taste, texture, and nutritional value, goat milk provides much stronger support for babies compared to cow milk and this is why we’re so excited for its well-deserved renaissance.
